Did You Know That You Can Be a H-Town Tourist in Your Own Apartment Home?

Do you miss all the things you’ve come to love about your city of Houston? A lot of us do! At Holly View Apartments, we understand that adjusting to the coronavirus pandemic hasn’t been the easiest, but we’re here to provide you with the professional management, on-site amenities, and digital resources possible to make it through any hurdle. If you’re looking ways to keep yourself – or more importantly, your kids – entertained, here are a few suggestions for Houston-centric online events & activities that will make you feel some sense of normalcy while having some fun in the process!

The Escape Game’s Digital Version

The escape game you know and love can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home! No, really – The Escape Room is now offering remote adventures, including “The Heist – Vol. 1: Chasing Hahn.” In this all-new digital experience, you will work as a secret agent to thwart the infamous art curator and suspected art thief, Vincent Hahn. Your job? Oh, just uncovering his true identity, connecting him to a crime, and working with the International Police to finally exact justice. All in a day’s work, right? Once unlocked this digital adventure can be played anywhere with an Internet connection and accommodates 1-4 players!

Virtual Story-Time & Crafts with Levy Park

Now, here is something for the kiddos, who aren’t aged 12 and older! Did you know that Levy Park has been offering free, on-demand story-time and craft events since the pandemic began in the U.S.? The digital events are free and offered on their Facebook page. All of the videos are also kept in a library on the park’s YouTube channel. Each story-time comes with an accompanying craft – all made from common household items that you most likely already have in your apartment home. For adults, Levy Park has been offering an online educational workshop, with its latest one hosted by the Houston Center for Photography!

Space Center Houston’s Apollo 13 Exhibit

Until the Space Center, Houston reopens, you can enjoy their virtual exhibit about the historic – and failed – Apollo 13 lunar landing. You’ll learn all about the aborted mission that occurred after the Service Module ruptured due to an unfortunate malfunction in its oxygen tank. Even with this mishap, Apollo 13 is considered to be a “successful failure” – and the Space Center Houston aims to show you all of the ins-and-outs behind that reasoning. Better yet, virtual exhibit go-ers can enjoy the Apollo 13 artifacts in-person once the SCH safely reopens to the public. It’s a win-win scenario for any space enthusiast looking to learn more!

At Holly View Apartments in Houston, Texas, our goal is to help you maintain a balanced life. The first step? We promise to keep you up-to-speed on fun activities, creative arts and crafts projects, and new recipes that you and your family are sure to love.
